Understanding organizational communication is a key component to being an effective leader. Effective organizational communication allows teachers and staff to feel included and confident. When ensuring that organizational communication occurs within your school, one is able to avoid misconceptions or ideas and eliminate a large amount of confusion regarding school functions. When organizational communication is incorporated by an administrator, they allow their staff to work together to achieve collective goals.
As a principal I will provide clear, positive communication with a focus on students, teaching and learning. I would achieve this by incorporating several communication tools consistently throughout the school year for a variety of situations. Communicating early and often incorporating online tools (email, Google docs, etc) and face to face discussions will be vital for success. Providing clear and positive communication to the community focusing on students and learning will allow the community to stay current on the events of the school.
